Alone on the Journey

 Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

October 3, 2016

Dear Julie:

I feel like I’m alone on this journey like no one is there to help me with things. I feel like family is not there. Please help.–Alone on the Journey

Dear Alone on the Journey

We all sometimes feel like we’re alone on the journey. Sometimes our family and friends can’t meet our needs (even if they might want to). That’s when we realize how much we need God. He is the only one who promises to:
MEET our needs (Matthew 6:33),
NEVER leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5),
PROTECT us against Satan’s wiles (Ephesians 6:10-18),
GIVE rest to our souls (Psalm 62:5)
LEAD us to green pastures (Psalm 23:2)
I could go on and on but you get the picture. Don’t lean on anyone but God. With him, all things are possible–and with him, nothing is impossible. Call out to him. “Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3).

And because we all find comfort in having friends “with skin on,” get involved with godly people at your church. Let your pastor know how you feel and ask him to help you get acquainted.

In addition, know that you have friends here. Readers of this column are tremendously supportive to one another. I’m asking them to welcome you and pray for you.

God bless you, my friend. Julie

Remember, friends, as challenges come our way, we can face them head-on
through Christ who strengthens us!
