Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

January 13, 2016

Dear Julie

My husband and I recently separated because of my dishonesty which “led” to his cheating and having a baby outside of our marriage 7 months after bearing his first child.

Rewind and pause for a second… I forgave him and accepted baby girl as my own… My family treats her like royalty….

Fast fwd… We went back and forth about divorcing, he moved out, moved Raggedy Ann in, so I began seeing someone else after a year of waiting on him.

Hubby found out about the new man and contacted him… Made him aware that he’s coming home which was news to me… Now, Raggedy Ann is no longer in his condo.. And he has been showing signs that he wants to make this work… But my question is…. Did he wake up only because he felt the burn of being replaced for once? And why the hell wasn’t it easy for him to walk away from that woman like it was easy for me to walk away from that other man? –Damsel in Distress

Dear Damsel in Distress:

Since this is a Christian advice column, I have to wonder where God fits into all of this. Are either of you believers in Jesus Christ?

I can only tell you what the Bible says. And that is to forgive one another, and move forward with God as the center of your marriage. For the sake of the children, I pray you will turn your lives over to Christ and train them up in the knowledge of God. That is where you will find peace and contentment.

God bless, Julie
