 Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

April 28, 2017

Dear Julie:

I’ve been in a relationship with this man for two years, almost three. We’ve been through so many things from him lying to me about other girls, allowing other women to get close to him, putting his hands on me, slamming my leg in the door, threatening to hit me in front of my 5 year-old son. And all these altercations led from me calling him out on being a liar about something when I had proof the whole time.

He doesn’t respect me. We can get in arguments and he would run to Facebook blasting me and our business all over social media. He loves sex so I feel forced to do it because if I tell him no, he gets an attitude that I don’t want to do anything. We rarely communicate and we’ve been living together almost as long as we’ve been together. He can get off work and instead of engaging in a conversation with me when I pick him up, he is straight on Facebook scrolling and watching videos. I’ve seen even where he’s liked pictures of beautiful girls.

At home we still barely talk, maybe a few words here and there. I recently got to a point where I asked for us to just be roommates while giving him an opportunity to prove that he wants to be better and do better but here he comes telling me all these sweet nothing’s to get me to stick around. Even though I know it’s bull, I still try to give him the benefit of the doubt. But it never works out.

I love him but I don’t know if I’m in love with him. I don’t know how to walk away and I don’t know if I should even stay because we’ve been going through these same things almost our entire 2 year relationship. –Needing Help

Dear Needing Help:

This man isn’t worth the time you took to write me. Show him the door and move on. You’ll be fine. You don’t need to put up with this. There are good men out there who would love and respect you. Don’t settle for less.

God bless, Julie
