Running Out of Patience

Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

October 3, 2017

Dear Julie,

My faith seems to be slipping but I’m holding on as strong as I can. I feel like I have changed a lot about what God has asked of me to change, but I constantly feel like I’m missing something.

Every time I get near a breakthrough or a huge blessing, I find myself having to relocate or start all over again. It’s frustrating and exhausting. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong or why my life seems to be complex often. I just want to taste God’s favor and be able to savor it for a while.

I pray daily, fast often, but I just can’t seem to hear God or the path He wants me to go down. I am a single mother and struggling financially and I have applied for help in all areas. I am waiting on a job transfer but it’s almost been a month of waiting to start. I just can’t seem to get a break! I don’t know what to do anymore and I’ve given it to God but my patience is running out.

Dear Running Out of Patience:

God does have a plan and a purpose for you (Jeremiah 29:11) and is working the pieces together for your good. In the meantime, never fear. When you can’t hold on any longer, he will hold on to you. He won’t let you go. Your part is to draw near to him and he will draw near to you. Your part is to trust him and he won’t let you down. Your part is to thank him for what you do have, for all he has provided.

Concentrate on Matthew 6 and see all the good things he gives us each and every day. And remember that when we seek first the kingdom of God, all the other needful things will be added to us. He has promised and he keeps his word. So even if you have to relocate, that is likely part of the coming blessing. Welcome it with anticipation rather than shrinking back in fear.

May God bless you and give you wisdom to know how to spend your resources as you wait on him to pour out his blessings on you. Julie
