Dear Julie:

I’m facing fear, anxiety, fretting, worrying, condemnation, rejection, lies torment, and illusions. –Scared to Death

Dear Scared to Death:

All those things come from Satan. He goes around, “like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” (I Peter 5:8-9)

As for what you are facing, meditate on the following scriptures and find comfort in knowing God has the answers for all your fears:

God says, “Be anxious for nothing” in Philippians 4:6-8.
Isaiah 26:3 says of God, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusts in Thee.”

Romans 8:1 says, “There is, therefore, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” Hebrews 13:5 says, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.”

John 8:44 says Satan is a liar and the father of lies. Therefore, when these things beset you, tell the devil where to go by saying “The LORD rebuke you, Satan.” God is stronger than the devil. And you, if you are God’s child, can run to God like a child to a loving dad.

So, where can you go for grace and comfort and peace? In Hebrews 4:16, we read:” Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Your troubles are many, but they all come from a defeated enemy. Jesus defeated Satan when He died for all our sins on the cross. Satan no longer has real power over us. But he tries to bluff us into thinking he does. Go to God. In Him, you will discover what real power, love, grace, and beauty are.

Blessings, Julie
