Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

April 14, 2017

Dear Julie:

I have had a really hard life since the day I was born. I grew up with no mother. She left me and my 3 siblings when I was 3 years old to be with another man. She left us with our very abusive drug addict father who beat us on a daily basis. I got pregnant at the age of 15 and was in an abusive relationship with my ex husband for 19 years.

I had 3 more children with him all girls. Anyways after that was done, I stayed single for 5 years. I was so afraid of getting hurt again until I met a man who with I was on and off with for 8 years only to find out he was married. I stopped seeing him and was so hurt that I kept praying to God to please send me the man you have chosen for me to spend my life with.

Three years passed and all of a sudden the man that I was seeing off and on left me a message on fb. He had gotten divorced and he wanted to get back with me so we did and we made 1 year in July. But we are no longer together. He doesn’t show me no love at all. I wanted to ask why do I keep getting hurt? Why did I have to have so much struggles in my life? Why did God send me this man? Will I ever be happy?

Because of all the hurt and struggles I turned to drugs and I would like to ask God to please take away all my pain. Please forgive me for my sins and I surrender to you, dear Lord. –Seeking Forgiveness

Dear Seeking Forgiveness:

I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through and I assure you that when you repent of your sins and ask Jesus to guide you thru life, your prayers will be heard. One thing God expects from his children is that they follow him, trust him, and obey him. So get a Bible and read it to know how to live. And pray.

After all you’ve suffered, I am certain you would benefit from Christian counseling to help you answer your questions about life and struggles. I believe that, with help, you can lead a joy-filled life because God has a plan for you, a plan for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Don’t worry so much about having a man. Get to know God’s way of living so when he sends you the man of his choice, you’ll know how to act. I’m praying that you will find joy and peace in your walk with God and that you’ll discover what God says in Psalm 37. “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

God bless you, Julie
