 Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

April 28, 2016

Dear Julie:

I lost my job last year in July and also lost my apartment. I now have a job, and am thinking of getting a new apartment in March or April. I’m praying on it.  The fear I have is that the job I now have is contracted for a year. I give my tithes faithfully, and I know God is faithful. My question is, should I take a step of faith and get an apartment, even though my job is a contract that will last only till January of next year?  My question might sound dumb, but I just want to know what are your thoughts. Thank you.-Stepping out in Faith

Dear Stepping out in Faith:

No, your question is not dumb at all. It’s always good to plan ahead. Even though none of us knows what tomorrow will bring (James 4:14), you need to live somewhere and God has promised to meet our needs. So why not go ahead and get that apartment. If possible, get one that rents month by month so that, if necessary, you can move out if the job contract is not renewed. Wishing you all the best, Julie.
