 Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

June 20, 2017

Dear Julie,

Sometimes I can give advice but I can’t take my own. I am saved but I met this guy who is not saved. He also said he wanted a wife, so I ended up being intimate with him and feeling bad about it.

Even though I like him, I can’t do this and I told him so he broke up with me. He says he doesn’t want to put him or me through this–he says he cares for me, but I just don’t know if he will marry me. I find myself still wanting to be with him and don’t no why. What can I do?–Still Wanting

Dear Still Wanting:

I want to thank you for sharing your story. You have learned a valuable lesson and one that I hope will help others avoid a big mistake.

If a man tells you he wants a wife, wait for sex until he has made YOU his wife. Don’t give him your body until he has given you his promise before God and others that he will love you and care for you until death do you part.

Becoming intimate with a man unites you physically and creates a bond that is difficult to deny. That’s why you find yourself still wanting to be with him. It’s not love, dear one. You yourself said that “Even though I like him, I can’t do this.” Write him off as a lesson learned and move forward with your life.

God bless,
