Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

June 27, 2017

Hey Julie:
I have Stage four cirrhosis and going through a lot heath-wise and also depression. I’ve always been independent and needing help is hard for me to take. I have no problem praying for others I can’t ask for me. Does this mean I want to give up? I know God’s love and that he is the healer. I’m so tired. Is this wrong?—Tired of needing help
Dear Tired:
I’m sorry you are experiencing serious health problems and depression but don’t hesitate to ask for prayer. God’s people are happy to pray for one another. God hears the prayers of his people as we intercede for each other.
It’s hard for some of us to ask for things, even prayer. Call it independence or pride, we like to be in control. But the Lord wants us to humble ourselves and depend on Him. In fact, scripture says that if we humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord, He will lift us up. It also says that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.  That grace may look like peace, or whatever you need.
May God bless and encourage you as you lean on Him. I am going to take your question as a request for prayer and am asking my readers to join me in praying for you. God bless you. Julie
