Discouraged and Lonely

Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

June 2, 2017

Dear Julie:

I am 50 years old and am still struggling with my divorce going on two years now! I also struggle financially. I work three jobs and feel as if I cannot get a break! I do not have any friends that are my age or, if they are my age, they do not live the way that is pleasing to God. I pray and pray for God to lead me. I feel so discouraged and lonely! –Discouraged and Lonely

Dear Discouraged and Lonely:

Sometimes life is unbearable especially when we feel alone and lonely. Hang in there though. The truth is that no child of God is ever alone because He is always with us. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11) Trust Him.

Do you attend a church that has a singles group where you have a better chance of meeting people who love God as you do? Some of my truest friends are people I meet in church.

I realize that working 3 jobs will leave you little energy for socializing, but do try to reach out. Ask your pastor’s wife for help. I’m asking our readers to join me in praying for you, dear one.

God bless you. Julie.

Remember, friends, as challenges come our way, we can face them head-on
