Feeling Helpless

February 5, 2016

Dear Julie:

I was in a relationship for two years till he broke it off in October. Through out the two years we were together, we were a long distance relationship. We would visit each other when we could. But in September he slept with someone else. I forgave him. We were trying to work things out. But in October, he told me that she made him happy. I asked him how does she make you happy. Is it cause she is physically and emotionally there? He won’t answer. He changed his number. He never gave me the closure that I wanted. It’s been three weeks. I love him so much. I’ve been praying for him and our relationship. Hopefully one day he will come back to me. Should I give him space? Does he still love me? He said he cares and loves me still. But just up and left. -Feeling Helpless

Dear Feeling Helpless:

Long-distance relationships are difficult at best. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. It appears that, in your absence, your boyfriend found someone else. It doesn’t sound like he still loves you no matter what he says. If he did, he wouldn’t have gone off with someone else and he wouldn’t have changed his number. Lift up your head, girlfriend, and move on. You are worth SO MUCH MORE than he is willing to give.
