Dear Needing Guidance:

Drown out all voices but God’s, and listen to him tell you to put aside those old ways and follow him down paths of righteousness (Psalm 23). He tells you not to come under the power of anything but himself. He tells you not to be overcome with evil but to overcome evil with good (Romans 12).

Addictions are powerful and difficult to overcome. However, God uses groups like Celebrate Recovery and Teen Challenge, along with prayer and meditation, to help you in your struggles. Check to see if such groups meet in your area.

God loves you, He only wants what is good for you. On the other hand, lies and addictions come from the enemy, the devil, satan. He is a liar and the father of lies. Tell him to go back to hell where he belongs.

The book of James says, “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. He will protect you. The choice is yours. I’m praying you’ll turn your back on lies and follow the truth.

“Father, Please speak to my friend. Impress her with your presence. Help her to know how much you love her and that your strength is powerful enough for her to withstand the lies of the devil. Please help her to quit, ONCE AND FOR ALL, and to follow you and you alone. I ask this in Jesus’s mighty and loving name.”

God bless you,
Julie
