Praying for Change

Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

April 22, 2016

Dear Julie,
I just don’t know what I should do.  I was in a relationship with a man for 5 years. Several years ago he started hanging around some people that I didn’t really care for. He changed and we became distant, more like roommates instead of a couple. We separated seven months ago which devastated me and our four year old child.

I had to start over with only a few clothes and personal items. I’ve been through so much pain I have a hard time praying and feel guilty for not trusting God. I believe God has something bigger and better planned for me I just don’t know how to let go of my ex and finally find peace. Prayers and scripture is appreciated. Please pray for my ex. I know God is able to change the heart and mind of people. If it’s his will. Thank you for your wisdom and prayers. – Praying for Change

Dear Praying for Change:

It sounds as if things have not been good for several years and when you two finally separated, you had to start over again with almost nothing. I have to ask you, dear one, why you’d ever want to go back to that arrangement. You were living like roommates, he hung out with people you don’t approve of, he left you and his 4-year-old child with little more than the clothes on your backs.

In my opinion, you’d be wise to trust God to provide for you and your child. Instead of feeling guilty, trust the One who loves you and has promised to meet His children’s needs.

Are you one of His children? If so, then you’re heir to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Don’t live like a pauper when you could live like a princess. If you aren’t sure you belong to Him, message me and I’ll tell you how.

May God bless you with His wisdom. Julie
