Facing our challenges head-on!
Challenges Women Face

July 1, 2016

Dear Julie:

Me and my husband have recently separated and I feel heartbroken. I don’t feel loved or respected by my husband. He just ignores me and when I contact him, he says he loves me but doesn’t make any effort to fix things, I try so hard to leave him alone but I love him and I don’t want a divorce, I don’t know what to do!!! I feel like a total fool. –Recently Separated

Dear Recently Separated:

Bless your heart. You didn’t give any reason for the separation. You love him and he says he loves you. Yet, because he ignores you and doesn’t make any effort to fix things, I would advise you NOT to contact him. Play a little hard to get, make him realize you have self-respect. You are NOT a “total fool” and, if you are a child of God, you deserve to be treated like the princess you are.

Yet, even princesses are not perfect. Are there things you need to work on? If so, can you use this time of separation to work on changing what you can? Maybe when he sees you are serious enough about this relationship to make necessary changes, he’ll work harder to change the things he can. Pray for him, pray for you, and pray for reconciliation. Finally, I would suggest you turn this situation over to God for He will know exactly what to do.

God bless you,
Julie
