Challenges Women Face

October 20, 2017

Dear Julie:

I’m having a hard time with prayers for myself. I have Stage four cirrhosis and going through a lot heath wise and also depression. I’ve always been independent and needing help is a lot for me to take. I have no problem praying for others but I can’t ask for me. Does this mean I want to give up? I know God’s love and that he is the healer. –Tired of Waiting

Dear Tired:

It’s hard for some of us to ask for things, even prayer. Call it independence or pride, we like to be in control. But the Lord wants us to depend on Him and humble ourselves. In fact, scripture says God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. That grace may look like peace, or whatever you need.

Whatever it is, don’t be afraid to ask for prayer. God’s people are happy to pray for one another. I’m happy to pray for you and am happy to ask our readers to join me in praying for you. May God bless and encourage you as you lean on Him. Julie
