Wanting Genuine Love

Facing our challenges head-on!Challenges Women Face

March 4, 2016

Dear Julie:

I’m currently a single mother of 6 and a grandmother of 2. I’ve had two failed marriages. I am a widow to a husband that died of a drug overdose. My second marriage was a mess more like a rebound. Since then I’ve been in multiple failed relationships.

I do want a husband and a permanent life partner. I am tired of being lonely but I do not want to entertain the wrong men. I came across someone I thought might have been a possibility of being in my future BUT I’ve seen his baggage. I know to pray & God will give me the desires of my heart BUT I don’t want to pray for the wrong person. I’m up in the air, not truly knowing what to do. -Wanting to be genuinely loved

Dear Wanting:

God bless you: you have had a difficult life! I honor your desire to have a permanent life partner, one who is looking for a stable relationship, hopefully with God as the center of your marriage.

So, the idea is don’t pray for the wrong person. Pray for the right person. Ask God to send you HIS choice. And spend your time in places where this kind of man would be. Church is always a good place to look as well as service organizations or organizations that support activities you enjoy. There’s also CHRISTIAN dating groups (which I would never have endorsed years ago, but I know of several wonderful Christian couples who met online.) Don’t be in a rush. God’s timing is always perfect. And, while you’re waiting, work on becoming the kind of woman your Prince Charming would fall in love with.

God bless you,
