Overboard (We Fell in Love) is a character-driven romance about two women of different generations who encounter many of the same dilemmas when falling in love—things like materialism and contentment, dating and sexuality, purity and forgiveness.
MARIAH MARTIN has a history of choosing the wrong men and nearly makes another wrong choice with Paul. When a “bad boy” from her past unexpectedly arrives, Mariah wrestles with her long-suppressed feelings for Daniel. Has he really changed? Is he really a new creation in Christ? Before she can find out, Paul date-rapes her and she becomes pregnant with his child. Ashamed and guilt-ridden, Mariah breaks off contact with Daniel and kisses her hopes for a future with him good-bye. ANNIE JOHNSON worries that her attraction to Doug is somehow a betrayal of her deceased husband George. Besides, Doug’s behavior doesn’t always reflect his Christian testimony. Is he even a believer? When Doug wants to take their relationship to the “next level,” she feels awkward and considers calling the whole thing off.
In the end, both women find answers to their questions and discover that when God says “wait and see,” He doesn’t always mean “no.” Overboard (We Fell in Love), the third novel in the Sisters at Heart Series, is 315 pages, 70,000 words. (unpublished)
